29.0An unbelievable flood in progress. Water is at the outskirts of Lyons and Bloomfield. River cabins are totally destroyed. Most levees overtop. Transportation at a standstill in Greene County. US 231 and Indiana 67 flooded. Portions of Indiana 57 north and south of Newberry washed out. Railroads washed away. Frantic sandbagging of the Elnora levee. Town of Plainville may flood depending on where the Big Bennington levee fails.
28.5During the Great June 2008 flood...SR 57 at Simpson Ditch was totally washed out just north of Newberry. SR 57 just north of the Greene/Daviess County line was extensively flooded. Levee breached just north of Newberry on the RB and just west of SR 57. In the Elnora area...levee near CR 1550N and 400E was blown out with sandbags scattered more than one half mile downstream. SR 58 completely washed out 1.2 miles west of Elnora. CR 300E just north of SR 58 washed out for about 100 yards.
28.5Town of Newberry isolated during June 2008 flood. First floor flooding of some residences in and near Newberry.
28.0Near record flood is in progress. River cabins completely flood. Water is nearing or over US 231 and SR 57. Sandborn floods by river water. Flood waters enter a few houses and one grain bin in Newberry that is located on the riverside of RR tracks. Water is at the outskirts of Lyons and Bloomfield.
26.0Levee in the Lyons-Marco area was sandbagged during the January 2005 flood.
25.5Levees in the Newberry area begin to fail. Water floods State Road 57 near Elnora.
25.0Water at the top of levees which protect nearly 30,000 acres. A major flood is in progress. Evacuations are necessary at Elnora. Backwater may become a problem in Sandborn.
24.0Inside flooding of some residences begin. Some people are forced to leave because of flood waters.
23.0Water levels approaches a major flood. Homes begin to flood in Daviess and Knox counties. Sandbagging of levee protecting Elnora is necessary. Railroad tracks near Elnora flood. A few houses in Newberry flood. High water affects homes in Daviess and Knox Counties. Water is at the top of levee at Elnora and threatens about 10 homes behind the levee.
21.0Flood waters reach critical stage for McGinnis and Shufflebarger Levees.
20.5Indiana 58 at Elnora floods.
20.0Greene County Road 550 W is impassable.
19.0Extensive agricultural flooding is in progress. Some state and county roads flood. County Road 600 W just north of river flooded by possibly more than 2 feet of water for a considerable distance in Mary Long Cutoff Area. Greene CR 900 W and CR 750 S begin to flood.
18.0Greene County Road 550 S begins to flood. County Road 600 W just north of the river flooded by possibly more than a foot of water for a short distance in Mary Long Cutoff Area.
17.0Flood waters blocks access and begins to surround about 5 to 10 river cabins on south side of the river just southwest of Newberry.
16.0Higher bottomlands begin to flood.
15.0Most lowlands flood. A few inches of water on County Road 600W just north of the river in Mary Long Cutoff Area.
13.5High water may affect CR 550 S in the Mary Long Cutoff area.
13.0Flooding of a few lowlands begins in Greene County.
