Stage Impacts
35.0High banks on the north side of the river overflow. Major flooding occurs throughout the Gila River valley. This level is below the flood of record, 200,000 cfs, which occurred on January 22nd, 1916.
30.0Major damage occurs throughout the area. All but the highest banks overflow in the immediate area of the gage.
26.8Peak flow of March 3rd, 1993 is reached. This is the flow of record since Painted Rock Dam was constructed. Extensive flooding occurs along the Gila River.
26.0Extensive flooding of agricultural areas, low bridges, and roadways occurs. There is a major impact at the confluence with the lower Colorado River in Yuma.
25.8The peak flow of February 15th, 1932 is equaled. This was the highest recorded flow prior to the construction of Painted Rock Dam.
24.0Flood Stage is reached. Minor lowland flooding occurs. Low water crossings are inundated.
