23.0A record flood event occurs. Much of Ellijay is flooded. Old Georgia 5 bridge will be flooded and closed.
21.0Record flood event occurs. A record flood event will flood much of the infrastructure of Ellijay. This will exceed the 100 year flood and serious flooding will occur along the Coosawattee...Ellijay...and Cartecay Rivers.
18.0A serious and major flood event continues. The 911 center and fire headquarters will flood. The bridge near Old Georgia Highway 5 and 282 will need to be closed. Widespread flooding of homes and businesses occurs. Evacuations should have been completed by this level. This flooding will be worse than during Hurricane Ivan in September 2004.
17.0A major flood event continues. The Post Office will begin to flood near the intersection of the Ellijay...Cartecay...and Coosawattee Rivers. Widespread flooding of Ellijay occurs...with many businesses...homes...and roads flooded. Evacautions will be needed. This event will be comparable to Hurricane Ivan in September of 2004.
16.0Serious and major flooding occurs. Significant flooding of homes...business...and roads occurs. Evacuations are needed. Parts of Old Georgia Highway 5 in Ellijay go underwater and will need to be closed. The Ellijay Water Treatment Plant will begin to flood. All of Harold Hefner Park is under water.
15.0Major flooding continues. Widespread flooding continues throughout much of Ellijay. State Highway 52 begins to flood and will need to be closed. The Fleet store will begin to flood. Some homes and busineeses are flooded and evacuations may be needed.
14.0Major flooding expands. Flooding of several homes and some businesses occurs through Ellijay. Some evacuations may be needed. The Spring Ellijay Plant will begin to flood.
11.0Major flooding begins. Legion Road begins to flood. Several homes and mobile homes will begin to flood from just downstream of Ellijay to several miles upstream of Ellijay on the Coosawattee and Cartecay Rivers. Flooding will begin in the Gold Kist Parking Lot. The American Legion building will be completely flooded.
10.0Moderate flooding begins. Some flooding of the American Legions building begins. Flooding expands at the Harold Hefner River Park.
9.0Minor flooding expands. Flooding of much of the Ellijay Greenway in the Harold Hefner River Park occurs. Flooding of low lands...yards and parking areas develops along a several mile stretch from just downstream of Ellijay to several miles upstream...including the Ellijay River and Cartecay Rivers.
8.0Flood Stage is reached and minor flooding begins. Some flooding will begin in low spots along the Ellijay greenway and in the parking lot of the American Legions.
6.0Bankfull stage is reached.
