Stage Impacts
34.0A Record Flood is in progress. Apartment complex just south of State Road 163 begins to flood. Much of southeast and northeast Clinton under 2 to 4 feet of water. Water is within 3 feet of bottom of State Road 163 Bridge.
32.0Near record flood in progress. East edge of Clinton begins to flood. Southeast and northeast sections of Clinton under 2 to 4 feet of water. Evacuations are necessary in southeast Clinton. Flood water converging on low areas of northeast and southeast Clinton along North and South Main Street. Agricultural levees near gage site fail.
31.0During January 2005 flood...water backed up Feather Creek flooding homes and a lift station. Six inches of water flowed over Lyford levee for over 8 hours. Serious flooding in progress.
30.0Major flooding in progress. Water is flowing over road and levee south of Clinton. Agricultural levees in northern Vigo County fail.
28.7Height of June 2008 flood. Extensive flooding of Feather Creek in Clinton as a result of local heavy rain. Lyford on east side of the Wabash River experienced some residential flooding. Flooding in Lyford may have be a combination of heavy local rain and high river level.
28.0Old SR 63 (North Main Street) begins to overflow. Top of agricultural levees in Northern Vigo county is reached. Critical stage of agricultural levees near gaging site is reached. Evacuations may be necessary in rural areas just south of Clinton. Backwater flooding begins along Feather Creek in Clinton.
27.5February 2008 flood North Main Street in Clinton closed at this level.
24.0Critical stage is reached on agricultural levees in northern Vigo County. Extensive flooding of agricultural lands is in progress. Flooding of low residential property in southeast Clinton begins. Some high county roads are impassable. River Park at Clinton is completely flooded.
23.0Extensive lowland flooding in progress. Much river water runs through City of Clintons wastewater treatment plant.
22.0Low areas of River Park at Clinton floods. Higher county roads and bottomlands begin to flood.
21.0Lowland flooding in progress. River water runs through the City of Clintons wastewater treatment plant.
