Stage Impacts
35.0Disastrous flooding in the Pajaro Valley including Pajaro and Watsonville will become more widespread.Levees protecting Watsonville and Pajaro are in serious danger of failing. Disastrous flooding will become more widespread near San Juan Bautista and west of Hollister along the San Benito River. Disastrous flooding will become more widespread south of Gilroy near the Pajaro River. Travel in the Pajaro Valley is all but impossible. Damage to roads and bridges will become more widespread.
34.0Disastrous flooding will occur throughout the Pajaro Valley including Pajaro and Watsonville. Disastrous flooding will occur near San Juan Bautista along the San Benito River. Disastrous flooding will occur in areas south of Gilroy near the Pajaro River. Travel will be nearly impossible. Many roads and bridges will be damaged.
33.0Major flooding will occur throughout the Pajaro Valley including areas near San Juan Bautista along the San Benito River. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. The levees along the Pajaro River could breach.
32.5The levees protecting Watsonville and Pajaro could breach or overtop. Moderate to major flooding in the Pajaro Valley will make travel very difficult.
32.0Levees protecting Watsonville and Pajaro are within a half a foot of overtopping. The entire Pajaro River will have major bank erosion and sediment deposition. Travel in the Pajaro Valley will be difficult. The lower portions of towns along the Pajaro River will have minor flooding.
29.5Parts of State Highway 129 between US Highway 101 and Watsonville will flood. The entire Pajaro River will have moderate bank erosion and sediment deposition.
28.0The lowest portions of agricultural areas along the entire Pajaro River will have minor flooding. Some secondary roads in the Pajaro Valley near the Pajaro River will have minor flooding.
25.0Significant scouring of cultivated lowlands near the Pajaro River will occur.
