22.0This level corresponds to the last occurrence of major flooding... on December 31 1990. Major flooding extends along the river through much of southern Fayette and northern Franklin Counties...with many homes and businesses along the river affected. Much of State Route 1 is covered...as well as secondary roads along the river. Low areas of Laurel...Alpine and Nulltown are impacted.
21.5Major flooding occurs along the West Fork of the Whitewater River in southern Fayette and northern Franklin Counties...including the towns of Alpine...Nulltown and Laurel. Much of State Route 1 is covered...as well as secondary roads near the river.
21.0Lowland flooding worsens in Alpine...Laurel and Nulltown. Water extending on to some county roads in southern Fayette and northern Franklin Counties will make these low lying roads impassable.
20.0Water spills across State Route 1...one half mile north of the Indiana State Police Post in Connersville. Flooding also extends to the east side of Connersville in low lying areas. Flooding worsens along low lying roads and agricultural areas in Alpine and Nulltown.
19.0Water extends further out of the banks of the West Fork of the Whitewater River...with some water extending on to county roads near Alpine and Nulltown.
18.0Flood water begins to approach county roads...and flooding of low lying agricultural land continues in Fayette and northern Franklin Counties.
17.0Flooding of low lying agricultural land can be expected in southern Fayette County.
