Flood Impacts and Historical Events
Stage Impacts
23.0A massive flood occurs. Many homes and businesses flood and evacuations are needed. Water flows across Northside Drive at the bridge of Peachtree Creek.
21.0Major and serious flooding occurs. Water rises to the undersupports of Northside Drive Bridge. People will need to be evacuated from Peachtree Park Apartments. Flooding extends to Haven Ridge Drive upstream from the gage. Also the water level approaches Fairhaven Circle near Peachtree Road...flooding the backyards of the homes nearest the creek.
20.0Major flooding begins. Water enters homes along Biscayne Road and in the Colonial Homes apartments. Wesley Drive floods. Cross Creek Golf Course on Nancy Creek will flood. Nancy Creek floods homes along Ridge Valley Road and businesses at Piedmont Road Bridge.
19.0Moderate flooding expands. Water about 1 foot deep enters homes on Hanover Drive. Homes are flooded along Armand Drive and Peachtree Battle Circle. Basements of homes along West Nancy Creek Road begin to flood. Fairhaven Circle begins to flood.
18.0Moderate flooding begins. Water begins to reach homes on Hanover West Drive. Backyards of homes on West Nancy Creek Road begin to flood.
17.0Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding begins. Woodward Way becomes impassable and flooding begins in yards of homes on Hanover West Drive and Woodward Way. Atlanta Memorial Park is flooded out.
15.0Atlanta Memorial Park starts to have high water as creek overflows into the park. City of Atlanta barricades Woodward Way.
13.0Bankfull Stage is reached. Water will begin to flow into low areas on Bobby Jones Golf Course.
